With Loader update version 1.1.0 we introduced something called “non-essential updates”. That is updates that are – as the name suggest – non essential but might come in handy, e.g. if you want to update your libraries to the UCS-standard.
In case you want to update to UCS please take the following route:
- Update Loader to the latest version here.
- Log into Loader and click on the cogwheel next to your username.
- Enable “non-essential Updates“.
- Close the seetings window.
- Open “View Updates” in the “All Products” tab at the left.
- There you can see all products with an update available.
- You can either update them individually or click on “Action/Update” (top right corner) to update them all at once.
Attention though: Because UCS uses a completely different file naming scheme, older installations of your libraries will be deleted from your hard drive. That means any file references in your previous projects will be broken!
So, before you update in Loader please consider to either make of copy of your library or to “consolidate/copy source files to project”. This feature is available in most modern audio/video applications.
Be aware that you won’t be able to download the legacy products back again after the update!
