How do I uninstall BOOM plug-ins?

1 min read

Windows

Open Settings → Apps → Installed apps (Windows 11) or Settings → Apps → Apps & features (Windows 10). Alternatively, use Control Panel → Programs and Features.
Select the BOOM plug-in you want to remove and click Uninstall.

Optional: remove presets and settings. Your presets and settings are not deleted by the uninstaller. To remove them as well, delete this folder:

C:\Users\[user name]\AppData\Roaming\BOOM Interactive\[plug-in name]

macOS

Delete the plug-in files of the respective plug-in from the following folders. Each plug-in is named after the product, e.g. [plug-in name].component, [plug-in name].vst3 or [plug-in name].aaxplugin:
/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components/ (Audio Unit)
/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST3/ (VST3)
/Library/Application Support/Avid/Audio/Plug-Ins/ (AAX)
Restart your DAW so that it rescans its plug-ins.

Tip: finding these folders on a Mac. Some of these folders are hidden in Finder by default. The quickest way to open them: in Finder, choose Go → Go to Folder… (⇧⌘G), paste the path and press Return. Replace [user name] with the name of your user account.

Optional: remove presets and settings.

To also remove all data created by the plug-in, delete these folders:
/Library/Application Support/BOOM Interactive/[plug-in name] /Applications/BOOM Interactive/[plug-in name] /Users/[user name]/Library/Application Support/BOOM Interactive/[plug-in name]

Please note: Deleted presets and projects cannot be restored. If you have created your own presets, back them up before deleting the folders.

SoundWeaver stores additional data in these locations:

/Users/[user name]/Library/Boom Library/SoundWeaver
/Users/[user name]/Documents/Boom Library/SoundWeaver
/Users/[user name]/Library/Preferences/com.BoomLibrary.SoundWeaver.plist
/Users/[user name]/Library/Preferences/com.BoomLibraryGmbH.SoundWeaver.plist
