What we recorded
To compile this unique treasure of TROPICAL FORESTS, Hempton spared no effort to collect and compile the immense diversity of cloud forests, rain forests and oceanic forests of Ecuador, Brazil, Belize, Australia and Sri Lanka.
What's so special about this library?
TROPICAL FORESTS are loud and dense places – they receive large amounts of solar energy. The high species diversity of these nature reserves translates into more complex ambiences sometimes becoming symphonic with even dramatic wildlife vocalizations. So this collection delivers a real powerhouse of opportunities: It comes with recordings which you would never have thought to be within your reach, from areas far remote and inaccessible.

I have loved BOOM Library sounds for long now, but with the incredible recordings of Gordon Hempton’s TROPICAL FORESTS (5.0) I found exactly what I needed for the surround installation of the Gabon Pavilion at the Milan Expo 2015. The setup consists of three big screens that surround the visitors. The original binaural audio is so pure and immersive that it makes you feel like you're right in the middle of these hostile pristine forests. The 5.0 extractions of these TROPICAL FORESTS recordings are simply fantastic!
ABOUT GORDON HEMPTON - THE SOUND TRACKER®
BOOM Library is very proud to distribute the probably best nature recordings on the planet, the absolutely precious recordings of Gordon Hempton.
Environmental activist & Emmy-Winner
All of the nature sounds in the QUIET PLANET Nature SFX series were recorded by Gordon Hempton, The Sound Tracker®, Emmy-winner, author of One Square Inch of Silence, and environmental activist. Faced with habitat loss, species extinction and most of all unbridled noise pollution, Hempton has now turned his attention towards saving the world’s few remaining natural amphitheaters.
The highest appreciation for mother earth’s voice
Gordon Hempton cares very deeply about quiet. As The Sound Tracker® he has circled the globe three times over the last 35 years in pursuit of Earth’s rarest nature sounds — sounds which can only be fully appreciated in the absence of manmade noise. These recordings are available through BOOM Library’s QUIET PLANET series.
