Deciduous Forests
Forest Ambience Sound EffectsPure, fresh, seasonal forest ambiences
New and fascinating: DECIDUOUS FORESTS is our eighth SFX library from our remarkable series of high quality nature recordings by Emmy-winner and nature recording genius Gordon Hempton. He has searched the globe for more than three decades to record nature at its most pristine.
What’s Inside
Varying Ambiences with every season
DECIDUOUS FORESTS are intimate and harmonious spaces. Their sound character is much quieter than that of tropical forests – but nonetheless spectacular. Their loudness varies and changes with the seasons, as the angle of the arriving solar energy gradually impacts their character. Winter, spring, summer or fall – you’ll find what you need to create the whole acoustic range of different weather conditions and day times in this collection, e.g. dawn onsets with early birds, day birdsongs and insects, wind drips and frogs, passing flocks, rainy storm aftermath…
Lively Abundance
DECIDUOUS FORESTS is especially rich with songbird and insect ambiences. The sheer selection of birds included in these all-natural hardwood ambient recordings ranges from American Robin, Barred Owl and Darkeyed Junco to Ruffed Grouse, Tufted Titmouse, Whippoorwill and so many more. Whether talkative, rhythmic, active or relaxed, their bird songs shape the unique characteristic of these natural cathedrals as the echo or afterlife of the original sound has a pronounced forest acoustic.

BOOM Library is very proud to distribute the probably best nature recordings on the planet, the absolutely precious recordings of Gordon Hempton.
Environmental activist & Emmy-Winner
All of the nature sounds in the QUIET PLANET Nature SFX series were recorded by Gordon Hempton, The Sound Tracker®, Emmy-winner, author of One Square Inch of Silence, and environmental activist. Faced with habitat loss, species extinction and most of all unbridled noise pollution, Hempton has now turned his attention towards saving the world’s few remaining natural amphitheaters.
The highest appreciation for mother earth's voice
Gordon Hempton cares very deeply about quiet. As The Sound Tracker® he has circled the globe three times over the last 35 years in pursuit of Earth’s rarest nature sounds — sounds which can only be fully appreciated in the absence of manmade noise. These recordings are available through BOOM Library's QUIET PLANET series.
