Senior Sound Designer:
The Role:
We are seeking a Senior Audio Designer with a strong track record/portfolio including previous successful AAA shipped titles and experience of managing a team of other Audio Designers / and Audio Department.
Required Skills
- Have been Senior Audio Designer or above, working in the games industry for 4+ years with at least 2 complete cycles of shipped AAA titles
- The ability to work collaboratively with other departments; to understand their needs, priorities and to take their input
- Work with Production and other departments to ensure milestone commitments are always met on time, including sprint and milestone task estimation, planning and identifying dependencies
- The experience of working with external stakeholders and / or I.P. holders including direct communication and working through approval processes
- Produce world class sound effects from the team’s original source recordings
- Set the audio quality bar on all projects, define best working practises for the audio team
- Have in-depth knowledge and experience with many types of microphones and recorders
- Be able to organise and engineer large-scale field recording sessions with dozens of mics and multiple recorders
- Have a good understanding of many types of music, ability to communicate with composers using music terminology and direct the composition of music
- Work with script writers and voice providers to ensure all speech / dialogue in all projects is of high quality
- Have experience with game audio middleware such as Wwise and Fmod
- Familiar with industry standard audio software such as Pro Tools, Reaper, Waves plugins and Izotope RX
- Be able to tracklay, mix and master linear media such as trailers and cinematics to high quality
- Experience mixing in 5.1 and 7.1 surround for games and linear media
- The proven ability to design cutting edge game audio tools to drive speech/sfx/music in innovative ways
- Have experience with game engines including Unreal 4
- Have experience performing and recording foley, and working with foley providers
- Be able to foresee and mitigate potential technical audio issues, identify problems and quickly resolve them
- Be able to oversee and manage a localisation pipeline
- Manage the Audio Team across multiple projects simultaneously
- Guide the Audio Team to create high quality sound effects
- Provide realistic goals for growth for the audio team, both individually and as a department; mentor and man-manage them towards those goals
- Be a force for championing audio within the studio and the wider industry
Desired Skills
- Experience with other game engines such as Cryengine and Unity
- Keep up to date on industry standards and developments in sound production and mixing techniques in other fields such as film and music
- A degree in music or sound design
- A basic understanding of how code is written is a plus
- Experience with video editing tools such as Vegas and After Effects

Sound Designer:
The Role:
As an Audio Designer at Splash Damage you will be responsible for the recording, design and implementation of Sound Effects and Dialogue in our games. Join our awesome audio team and help us make some amazing sounding games.
Required Skills and Experience
- You must have been an Audio Designer within the games industry for 2+ years with at least 1+ complete cycle of a shipped AAA title
- The ability to produce world class sound effects from the team’s original source recordings
- Work within the audio team to push the quality bar and define good working practices for the project
- The ability to both work autonomously as the sole Audio designer on a project, or work under the direction of the Audio lead to create high quality content for the project
- Have in-depth knowledge and experience with many types of microphones and recorders
- Be able to take an active role in field recording sessions, managing multiple mics and recorders
- Have thorough experience producing dialogue, from planning with design and script writers to organising recording sessions, directing, editing and processing dialogue
- Have experience with audio middleware such as Wwise
- Be familiar with industry-standard audio software such as Reaper, Nuendo, Waves plugins, Izotope RX
- Have experience in tracklaying, mixing and mastering linear media such as trailers and cinematics
- Work with the development team to design cutting edge game audio tools for speech/sfx/music in innovative ways
