For this month’s BOOM ONE update, we delve into the locked and stocked world of gun mechanics and the epic travelogues that luggage sounds can tell. Here, we present to you a compendium of precision and movement, carefully crafted by some of our top sound designers to further broaden the scope of your sound effects collection.
NEW SOUNDS
Gun mechanics
Sound is an invisible character in your narrative. With gun mechanics, it’s about capturing the essence of power and precision, danger and threat, urgency, and protection. Every metallic slide and click is a testament to the firearm’s design and function.
Our ever-growing collection now includes 157 gun mechanics files. The sound profile of a firearm is unique, from the assertive click of a bullet being loaded into an AK-47 magazine to the subtle snap of a safety button on a Waltter M13 shotgun. The Baikal Mp-153‘s cap closes with authority, while the CZ 550‘s trigger clicks and Remington 870’s cocking sounds are studies in mechanical grace. We even included the dry fire of an airsoft gun to round out the update.
We got as wide a range of handling sounds as possible for the guns, including bullet removes, loading, cap closes, dry fires, fire mode switches, safety switches, and some other sounds. Please note that we weren’t able to get all sounds for every gun, so there is some variation.
Luggage sounds
We move on now from the sharp report of firearms to the clacking wheels and soft handling of luggage, sounds many of us are all too familiar with after any holiday season.
Our 160 Luggage Files bring journeys to life. Imagine the thud of a Travel Duffel with wheels hitting the ground, or the click of a Hardshell Suitcase latch securing precious contents.
