Why is there a remastered version?

It is our ongoing effort to create great sound effects using the expertise, technology and workflows we have developed over the last decade. In this case we feel that this library was outdated and we want to offer something more useful for today's standards.

Is this a paid upgrade?

If you invested in the original Construction Kit or Bundle, this remaster is free. We stand behind our work and keep improving it. If you purchase this library now, you will instantly get access to the improved, remastered version of the Construction Kit. The Designed pack has not changed.

What has actually changed in Guns – Construction Kit Remastered?

We removed near-silent handling channels, consolidated stereo captures into interleaved stereo files, applied some processing to make the sound usable more easily, corrected naming and descriptions, adopted current UCS naming and refreshed metadata for better search.

Will this break older sessions?

File naming and structure have been improved. For legacy projects, keep your original install available. For new work, use the Remastered library for cleaner organisation and faster findability.

Do I need to download everything again?

Yes. To benefit from the updated files, names and metadata, install the Remastered package.

I already own the legacy version of the product, how do I download the remastered version?

The easiest way to access your files is via our Loader application which can be found on our website. Open the Loader, follow the instruction to log-in and then search for Guns Construction Kit to (re-)download the newly remastered version of this library.

What gun sounds we recorded

We recorded a multitude of different firearms: Machine Guns, Pistols, Assault Rifles, Sniper Rifles and Shotguns. The microphone setup was a 12-Channel setup to capture every tiny aspect of each shot, from pulling the trigger to the very distant tail. The result is a really professional and highly usable gun sounds library.

I am a big fan of BOOM libraries and own most of what they've put out. I work with Cartoon Network's Adult Swim and have done many of their shows over the years. I've used BOOM’s libraries on Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Your Pretty Face Is Going To Hell, 12oz Mouse, Harvey Birdman, and almost exclusively used their car and weapon libraries on a show called Archer, years ago. I'll be starting new shows soon and will be looking to their libraries for a variety of different elements. Working primarily in Animation, I find the need to do a lot of Foley or look to the more obscure sound libraries to help build things that don't always exist in the real world. Libraries like BOOM’s Sci Fi, Magic, Fire, Destruction and the different animal libraries are hugely helpful.

I used elements of BOOM's 'GUNS' SFX for the Winchester pump action shot guns used in ‘Ripper Street’ & I recently used BOOM's ‘Debris’ SFX for a film which was shown at Milan Expo15 called 'The Family Tree' the 'Debris' SFX came in use for scenes which showed high rise buildings bursting up through the ground. BOOM I ‘Bleeping’ love your SFX!
