The Electronic Entertainment Expo is in full spate! As one of the most important and most visited video game trade fairs worldwide, the visitors at the convention center in Los Angeles get to see the hottest new releases.
This year Ghost Recon Wildlands (UBISOFT) opened up the video game conference and announced the video game release on March 2017. BOOM customer Arnaud Noble was in charge of creating and mixing the gun and weapon sounds of the new Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands E3 trailer. He gives us a behind-the-scenes-look at the creation:
HOW DID THE BOOM LIBRARY SOUNDS WORK FOR YOUR PROJECTS?
Concerning my work in Ghost Recon Wildlands I had to design all the guns of the game with different prospects (close, middle and far), variety, caliber, tails and suppressed mode. Unfortunately, I cannot give you more details about the sound design and game engine system but the ASSAULT WEAPONS and SILENCERS Libraries were very useful to design all guns!
WHY DID YOU USE BOOM SOUNDS?
Ever since the beginning of BOOM Library I follow your work because there is always smart and good stuff. What I enjoy most about BOOM Library is that there is always a strong theme (Gun, Magic, Medieval, Creature…) with both types of sound bank, “Designed” and “Construction Kit”. For Example: the “Designed” version will offer a quick and efficient way to integrate sounds in trailer and the “Construction Kit” is the best tool to design unique sounds.
HOW DID YOU LIKE THE QUALITY OF THE SOUNDS?
I use BOOM Libraries in my projects every day to additional sound design or recordings. The Construction Kit is just awesome for creativity and so inspiring. Clean sound files and most variety to build up a lot audio assets. On the top of that, sound files come with very detailed metadata tags and the price can’t be beaten!
Ghost Recon Wildlands offers the biggest open world until now. The Mexican drug cartel takes control of the country and you are a member of the special unit called “Ghost – Remove” in Bolivia. Your mission: to come across the most important cartel members and to hold them captive. The game can be played by one single player or up to four players. In Coop-Modus agreements with other players are very important. How you approach the mission is your choice.
