Our user interface contest is over – and the winners are:
The BOOM Library user interface sound design contest was a really fantastic experience both for us and for the contestants. It feels good to see so much talent out there 🙂
Here’s a short summary:
The participants had to do the sound design for a UI video and they were only allowed to use a white noise sound that they could process, filter, re-record or alternate in any possible way. NO other source sounds were allowed. The best three participants could win BOOM Library gift cards worth 1.000,00$. This video with UI animations made by Nawaz Alamgir was the starting point for our contest:
After we announced the contest, we received more than 80 submissions, which was way more than we expected. A lot of of them were really, really good, some were outstanding which made picking the winners a very hard task for us.
We also received a lot of feedback from the participants, such as:

…we received so much more great feedback, we can’t list everything here :-).
After reviewing the submissions, our judges Axel Rohrbach (Creative Director BOOM Library) and Zdravko Djordjevic (The Audio Spotlight) each chose their five favorites. From those 10 submissions, our third judge Michael Schwendler (Lead Sound Designer BOOM Library) picked the three winners. Here they are:
